FilmTastic - Saving your eyes and pockets from horrid movies...

Saw VI

October 27th 2009 11:30
Jigsaw returns for Saw VI, but I won't be returning if there's a Saw VII.

After 6 installments of Saw, there reaches a point where you just get sick of it. The 6th one really did it for me. It felt like they had run out of creativity. The twists weren't as smart or unpredictable as the previous twists and even the killing methods were simple and boring. Yet, they still end it suggesting there would be a 7th.

If you are addicted or are a big fan of the Saw series, watch this if you want to end your addiction once and for all. This was a real disappointment, at one stage I even wanted to fall asleep......

THE final destination (3D)

October 22nd 2009 08:41
3D glasses that give you motion sickness coupled with extremely gory scenes, "I can feel my dinner coming back out".....

...at least that's how i felt when i watched this fourth installment of the popular movie. Coming into the movie after watching the first three installments, gore was pretty much all i expected, and gore i got. Do not go into this expecting some creative storyline or twist from the original. Much like the other three, this lacks storyline, good acting and script.

I think even the producers knew their own downsides, deciding to release this in 3D. As it is a 3D movie, it forces you to expect more from effects and less from story, so i guess seeing blood and guts in 3D was an "interesting" experience.

Though, the storyline, acting and script could have been better, this was a fun experience to watch in the cinemas. I mean, considering that the novelty of the 3D glasses was all that made this movie watchable, imagine this on video....(catch this at the cinemas, or don't catch it at all)

Zombieland

America's solution to "Shaun Of The Dead".

If you enjoyed movies like "Shaun of the dead", you will enjoy this because it is pretty much the same thing. A bunch of humans stuck in a world of zombies.

Although, this movie was very similar to "Shaun of the dead", it still made me laugh and was overall an entertaining movie to watch. There was quite a few gory scenes, cliche scenes and scenes where you can't help screaming at the screen "What the hell are you doing?" (before you realise you look like an idiot screaming at a screen).

By looking at the title of the movie and the trailer, you pretty much enter the cinema knowing what to expect. It was an entertaining movie, but nothing special, and i do not think it was worth the money to go watch in the cinemas, but definitely grab this when its out on video. It is still worth watching for some laughs.
