Ridiculous Ridiculous Ridiculous!!!!
I can imagine now....a group of uncreative filmmakers sitting around a table discussing ways to suck as much money out of the public as possible. Who cares about creativity, who cares about orignality. Just take a superstitious date, take an old movie and remake it.
This is one of the worst horror movies i have seen. It wasn't scary AT ALL, and the script and acting was so cheesy and unconvincing. I don't understand why anyone would take an old horror classic, which already has 12 parts to it, and remake it again if they aren't planning to do a good job of it. The original Friday the 13th "franchise" was popular, because for it's time, when there was less advanced technology, the effects were well made and the movie would have been something new and exciting. But, with all the "slasher" type horror movies around these days, this is just another one to add to the bottom of the list.
The Friday the 13th movies were quite controversial for its time because of its constant nudity and overly gory scenes, so as expected, this remake has plenty of these scenes. In fact, there was so much nudity, it felt like i was watching a soft core porn movie. Almost every single actress in the movie appeared naked at least once. Not something i thought was necessary. The killings were gory, but nothing special compared to all the gore we see these days.
The movie stars Jared Padelecki, who plays Sam in the TV drama "Supernatural", so seeing him in the movie kept making me feel like i was watching a really bad episode of Supernatural. I am a huge fan of Supernatural, and in my opinion, I would rather watch any episode of Supernatural than to sit through "Friday the 13 (2009)" again.
Overall rating 3/10
