Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa

December 11th 2008 01:22
If you enjoyed the first Madagascar, expect to be pleasantly surprised. Just as you thought it couldn't get better, it just did. Definitely worth watching. Madagascar 2 is a simple movie with a simple storyline and simple jokes that leave everyone of any age and gender holding their tummy in laughter. This is what i like about this movie, it doesn't get too confusing, gets straight to the point and has jokes that everyone can relate to and understand.

The start of the movie begins with a short recap of what happens in the first movie, i guess this is effective for those with a bad memory or those who haven't watched part one. As a brief summary, Madagascar 2 is basically about returning to the wild, to where they are suppose to belong. The story behind Alex's childhood, his family and how he got too the zoo are revealed. Being brought up in an "artificial" environment, will these animals survive in the wild?.

What i've always loved about animations, is the persona which the designers have created for each of the characters and the way that body movement and speech portrays this. In this movie we are introduced to a few new characters, I especially enjoyed watching "Moto moto", the hippo. Watch out for this guy, he is hilarious. I will not spoil it for those who haven't watched, so i suggest you keep a look out for him, he is so, ahem, HOT......

Through this movie, we gain a better understanding of each of the characters, and what they really want in life. This movie really delves into each character as an individual, and we grow even closer to them. Most surprising of all, we see a love story develop between Gloria and Melman. Ridiculously funny.

Finally, those penguins are back and sillier than ever. They are the funniest characters to ever grace the screen, with their scheming plans and smartass remarks, I could watch them for hours.

So, if you haven't watched it yet, get out there and buy yourself a ticket because this is definitely worth watching.
