FilmTastic - Saving your eyes and pockets from horrid movies...

Saw V

December 13th 2008 03:28
No matter how many sequels they make for Saw, I know us Saw-maniacs out there will still go and watch it. Even if the last 100 sequels were ridiculous, we'd still have hope that the 101st one will blow us away, just like the first. This is what happens, when you take a simple idea, add a twisted ending and surprise the world.

After watching the first three instalments of Saw, I was already feeling a bit tired of "Jig-saw" by the time the fourth one was released. Seriously, how many smart, gory ideas did the makers of the movie have?, but being a fan, I couldn't resist watching part four and that's what got me hooked all over again....

When I heard Saw V was to be released, I ran straight to the cinema to check it out and was unfortunately, slightly dissapointed. Not that it was bad or anything, but it just lacked surprise. There was nothing in this movie that distinguished it from the rest, i wanted a surprise, an extreme twist....but it fell slightly short of my expectations. Other than that, it is still worth watching, but don't have too many expectations, make sure you refresh yourself with the first four instalments or you might be a little confused.

The movie runs between two "games" and i like how the gory scenes and serious scenes counteract eachother. The serious scenes are like a rest period between the gory scenes, amplifying their intensity. As expected, from Saw, expect a twisted ending. There are two twists to watch out for.

Though i was dissapointed, if there's a Saw VI, i will still be first in line...
