The Loved Ones

Disturbingly entertaining......
For some people, this might not be their type of movie. First of all, if you hate horror/thrillers....turn away now. If you can't stand blood, don't even consider it. Lastly, if you are expecting a fast paced, action-filled psycho killer movie....think again.
The Loved Ones centres around a boy who rejects a girl who asks him to the school dance.......only to find out later, she is a psychotic serial killer who finds joy in torturing boys that she likes..... and he is her next victim.
I think this movie was leaning on the edge of being an artistic type of film, with its silent, suggestive moments......smartly placed camera angles......and filming techniques. The movie is smart, in that it plays with your emotions. One moment you are completely disturbed and disgusted, the next you are laughing at the unbelievable scene on the screen.
It was definitely an interesting movie, and quite different to what I expected. I would recommend it to those that want something out of the ordinary, smart and disturbingly entertaining......
After watching this movie, you would definitely think differently about your Formal, Prom, School Dance.....or whatever you call it......
Location: In Cinemas November 4th.
Times: Check Session time closer to release.
Price: $15-$20 a person
Overall Rating: 3/5
